Ascendant Technology Achieves its Second “Ready for IBM Rational Software” Designation

June 07, 2010

Ascendant Technology (Atech), an Austin, TX-based consulting services firm, specializing in business solutions using IBM technology, today announced that it has successfully completed “Ready for IBM Rational Software” technical validation for its Atech Team Connector (ATC) for MS Project.

ATC for MS Project allows project managers to synchronize macro MS Project plans with micro Rational Team Concert (RTC) release and iteration plans. ATC facilitates the recognized best practice of high-level planning for the complete project scope (macro-) with low-level (micro-) planning for the immediate and next increments or iterations.
ATC provides project management and business stakeholders with the accurate reporting of delivery dates and costs based on the current real-time status of a software delivery project.

“ATC helps to bridge the communication gap between business management personnel and IT personnel, reducing the unwelcome surprises that often afflict important custom initiatives”, said Rob Thomas, EVP Sales. “With ATC, our clients can realize the benefits while avoiding the pitfalls of Agile development.”

ATC is built on top of the “Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration” (OSLC) specification , which is a community effort to help software delivery teams by making it easier to use lifecycle tools in combination. You can learn more about how OSLC and Rational are teaming on Jazz.net.
